Jungle Buddies

Together we are strong

In these uncertain times, days often unfold differently than usual. We wake up without
knowing exactly what the day will bring. Children fall out of their routines and sense the
tension, sometimes in small things. It is not easy to explain major world problems to
young children. They often struggle to imagine what is happening and may not yet have
enough language to express their worries.

What you can do to help children, at their level:

Give words to emotions
Are they feeling scared, sad, or angry? Name these feelings and let them know that all
emotions are allowed. Everyone experiences emotions differently, and that is okay.

Accept every emotion
We support children by not judging, but by accepting, normalizing, and showing
understanding for how heavy feelings can sometimes be.

Co-regulation
We cannot completely take away fear, sadness, or anger, but we can help make these
feelings more manageable together.
We do this through release activities, relaxation exercises, and connecting play — ways
that allow tension to leave the body and help children feel safe and connected again.
